Valentine's Day and 100th Day of School

February 14th was our Valentine's Day party AND our 100th day of school because of all the snow days we had earlier. We had a very FULL day of activities! First thing that morning, we had our last visit from Zero Hero. All the kindergarten students enjoyed zero snacks (donuts) in the cafeteria with Zero Hero. They counted to 100 by ones, fives, and tens. Everyone was so excited! Once back in the classroom, the kiddos worked on activities including a Stamp To 100 booklet and counting 100 snacks! Here are a few photos:

Their 100th Day shirts were so cute!

Each child wore crowns saying they were 100 Days smarter!
Later in the day the students exchanged their valentines after I read books about Valentine's Day and friendship. They ALL did a great job making their valentine's boxes at home. I was so impressed with their creativity! Thanks for helping them! Here are a few photos:

February 13th, the students made Friendship Hearts after they worked on a "Friendship Can, Like, Have" anchor chart. They wrote sentences from the chart on a heart and then drew themselves and a friend on the paper. I was proud of their work! Here are a few photos:

Our Valentine's Party was in the afternoon. I appreciate everyone who helped make this so much fun for the kiddos by planning, helping with activities, and sending refreshments. You are the best parents! Also, thank you to Yogi's Pizza for donating 2 pizzas. Here are a few photos from the party:

As you can see February 14th was a very fun-filled day! Next week our unit of study will be Planets. The kiddos are going to work with partners to research a planet and have presentations on Friday, Feb. 28th. I'll keep you posted! :)
